Safety and positioning

Important safety guidelines
There are many different types of sling to choose from, but whatever you use you should ensure you follow these guidelines:

  • Your baby should be carried nice and high on your chest, their head should rest just under your chin.
  • You should be able to see their face and monitor their breathing at all times, do not have any fabric obscuring their airway.
  • You should be able to fit two fingers between baby's chin and chest. They should have a nice supported back with no slumping.
  • The material of the sling should come up to the back of their neck for a young baby.
